Incognita Enterprises is an independent production house, producing award-winning, innovative and original theatre, television and film, based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

Established in 1997 by actor and Creative Director, Sally McLean, under the honorary patronage of multiple BAFTA winner and Oscar® nominee, the respected British actor Sir Nigel Hawthorne KB, CBE (1929-2001), we produce new theatre works and original film and TV ideas using established practitioners working alongside the next generation of writers, filmmakers, directors and actors. The core Incognita team consists of Sally McLean, Billy Smedley, Christopher Kirby, Phoebe Anne Taylor and Sass Pinci.

Current projects include Season Four of the international multi award-winning web series, Shakespeare Republic, starring Alan Fletcher, Michala Banas, Nadine Garner, Dean Haglund, Christopher Kirby, Sally McLean, Billy Smedley, Sass Pinci and Phoebe Anne Taylor (currently in financing), the feature documentary Champion, featuring Sir Roger Bannister, Sir Christopher Chataway, John Landy, Herb Elliot and Ron Clarke among others (currently in production) and digital series Dark Arcadia (currently on the festival circuit).

Our continuing aim is to create and produce engaging, quality productions for the stage and screen that speak to a modern audience, while honouring those who came before.

Our education programs have been taught at Melbourne University, Howard Fine Acting Studio Australia, Equity Foundation (Actors’ Equity Australia), Homesglen TAFE, Brave Studios, Melbourne Acting Studio and The Actors’ Institute, UK, among others.
